What to Expect
The Dolomites are an alpine region; one moment is sunny, and 10minutes later, you can find yourself in a thunderstorm.
There is a chance the weather will not allow us to either visit or shoot some locations. For example, at Lago di braies, even the slightest rain can close the boat hut, and you cannot take a boat ride or shoot the boats. At Lago di Misurina, there is a big chance not to be able to shoot the mountain due to fog. At Tre Cime, if we get caught in the storm, we can find ourselves literally in the cloud with lightning next to us, so we will be hesitant to visit if the conditions are not good.
Weather can change from hot to cold in a minute, so you always need to carry a windproof - waterproof jacket. You need to have a way to protect your gear if we get caught by rain in the middle of the mountain.
Who is this for:
Any passionate photographer who wants to explore nature. You need to know the basics of using your camera and swapping out lenses. We will talk mainly about composition and focus on taking photographs, and we will not focus on cameras and lenses since they are only tools. If you are not sure how to use your camera, bring the manual.
Who is this NOT for:
This will not be a tourist attraction tour. We will be awake at very early and very late hours, and we will not sleep much. We will not eat at fancy restaurants. We will get wet and will have to endure outdoor elements. If you are not a photographer that enjoys taking photos with a tripod for several hours, then this not for you.
LOCATIONS:
Locations can change at any moment and are in the judgment of the photo guide. We can stay longer at one place and skip the next, or skip a hike and move to another location.
WEATHER:
The weather is unpredictable and brutal. We cannot control the weather, so you need to be prepared. Almost certainly, we will have to shoot in the rain. You need to be prepared and protect yourself and your gear from the elements.
